O Minas terminou o primeiro turno do NBB com vitória. Na noite desta terça-feira, os minas-tenistas venceram o Pinheiros de virada, por 91 a 84, na Arena Minas Tênis Clube, em Belo Horizonte, pela 12ª semana da fase classificatória.
Com o resultado, o Minas chegou à 13ª vitória no torneio em 16 jogos e se mantém na terceira posição do NBB. Já o Pinheiros sofreu nono revés em 16 partidas no campeonato.
O Minas volta à quadra no sábado, às 20h, contra rival a ser definido, pelas quartas de final da Copa Super 8 – torneio eliminatório disputado de 15 a 22 de janeiro entre os oito melhores do primeiro turno do NBB, que se encerra nesta quarta-feira. Como o Pinheiros ainda tem chances de disputar o Super 8, o time aguarda o fechamento da primeira metade da fase classificatória para saber quando volta à ação.
Caso não dispute o Super 8, o Pinheiros volta à quadra somente em 25 de janeiro, às 20h30. O time duela com o Rio Claro, no Felipe Karam, ginásio da cidade do interior paulista, pelo NBB.
O jogo
O Pinheiros começou a partida melhor que o bem desfalcado Minas, que conseguiu se encontrar no jogo ao longo do quarto. O período inicial terminou empatado em 22 a 22, e o jogo seguiu bem equilibrado até a metade do segundo período. A partir de então, o Pinheiros, com o ala-pivô Jefferson William com ótimo aproveitamento, conseguiu desgarrar no marcador, aproveitar falhas defensivas do Minas e ir ao intervalo vencendo por 44 a 49.
O Pinheiros voltou ainda melhor para a partida e chegou a abrir dez pontos em duas oportunidades, com o ala Dominique Coleman puxando a pontuação dos visitantes. O Minas contou com bons momentos do ala Tiago Dias, o que manteve o time vivo. Os visitantes lideravam por 72 a 65 até o início do quarto final.
O Minas foi imponente no último período. Empurrado pela torcida, que entrou no jogo a partir do terceiro quarto. Jogadores como o ala Gui Deodato cresceram na partida, e o time minas-tenista conseguiu a virada e concretizou a vitória por 91 a 84.
